As the sun-kissed days of summer gently fade into memory, Global Care Albania is excited to bring you the highlights from our latest newsletter, where we delve into the heartwarming stories and transformative initiatives that have kept us busy during the season.
1. Summer Camps: Where Dreams Take Flight
160 children from Bathore participated enthusiastically in our summer camps during 5 weeks full of games, challenges, crafts, music, dramas, as well as meaningful peer discussions and group conversations. For many of these children, the “New Day” GCA Center is their sole source of entertainment, making it essential for us at GCA to positively influence their lives in the best way possible.
2. Women Empowerment: Fostering Strength and Resilience
Global Care Albania has been unwavering in its commitment to empowering women in our community. Our latest newsletter showcases the inspiring stories of women who have overcome adversity, gaining newfound confidence, skills, and independence. We firmly believe that when women thrive, entire communities prosper. Through relationships, home visits, mentoring, trainings, meetings and direct work opportunities we are trying to raise abused women’s potentials and strengthen their role in and outside the house.
3. Exploring the 5 Stages of Child Development
20 women, mothers of children aged 0-6 years, deepened their understanding of the 5 stages in their children’s development. The training session was characterized by active engagement and the acquisition of fresh insights. There is an abundance of knowledge to be gained from the trainer/psychologist, David, and equally as much to exchange based on each other’s personal experiences. A subsequent meeting in September has already been scheduled for further interaction and growth.
4. The Dutch Family in Bathore: A Heartwarming Tale
In July, a wonderful family with 3 kids from The Netherlands joined our team to support a local family. They painted Eriselda’s house and turned into one big unified family for 4 heartwarming days. Laughter and compassion transcend nationality and language proved no barrier. Following the rewarding work, they all gathered to savor a local traditional meal prepared by the grandmother. After the meal, the entire family and neighbors enjoyed the joyful music played by Gerson, their son.
